New York's Hudson Valley is THE Place for PV

About Us

For PV manufacturers, New York’s Hudson Valley presents an unusual combination: the ideal region for PV and the organization to make it flourish.

The force behind HVPV.

The Hudson Valley Photovoltaic Alliance is the latest initiative from the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC), which helps companies expand or relocate into the nine-county area that is New York’s Hudson Valley. Our support for those companies runs the gamut from RFP support and site search consultation to collaboration on financial incentives. Currently, HVEDC markets more than 10 million square feet of manufacturing and commercial space in a region with a thriving cluster in semiconductors — an industry with PV synergies at every point of the supply chain.

The region to make it a success.

Just a short drive from New York City, the Hudson Valley possesses an ideal blend of advantages for capitalizing on the world’s largest, most lucrative PV market. R & D synergies come from world leaders like IBM, GE Global Research, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. More than 30,000 of the valley’s 920,000 employees work in the highly skilled electronics manufacturing and cleantech clusters. The proximity to massive PV markets translates to cost-effective distribution and sourcing. Special financial incentives make siting cost-effective as well, and available sites can meet PV manufacturing’s unique requirements.

Just as important, what region can offer the thrill of Manhattan, the serenity of a forever-wild forest preserve, and everything in between? This outstanding quality of life regularly draws exceptional talent to the Hudson Valley — and keeps them here.

No region offers all these advantages quite like New York’s Hudson Valley.
